Prusa I3 pro B first print.

Post by Andreaprusai3prob »

Hi everyone. I tried my first print. A simple cube of 1 cm x 1 cm. This is the result :( ... I was hoping better but obviously something does not work. I state that the home command works. I think the malfunction may be due to this: if I move from Cura x / y to 10, x / y move 1 cm. Instead if I move z of 10, z moves 10 cm. I do not know if it's normal or not. I added some images to explain myself better. Can you help me please?

Hi,

Did you try this?

Check the threaded rod of your printer(Especially I3 PRO X, I3 PRO W, I3 PRO B, I3 PRO C)
If your printer working with T8 threaded rod
You need to send Gcode"M92 Z400" via USB port.(When you upload the firmware finished)
Then you need to send Gcode"M500" to save the setting.

I agree on the rod problem. Normally the printer is delivered with threaded rod of low quality. Many people, my self included have updated these rods to t8 lead screws from ebay. This means that steps per mm changes quite significantly from 2560 to around 400.

It's a small print, what did you use for adhesion? I use my wife's hair spray, works well.

I got mine with t8 lead screws in the box, and the rods weren't bent. I think the older ones had issues.
But yes, the steps per mm for Z axis had to be tuned. It was NOT exactly 400, but close to it. Look on youtube on how to calibrate if needed.
