Dear friend,
Could you please uninstall the driver first, and then follow the steps:
1. Remove FD, remain DUE only, and please don't connect DUE with Computer.
2. Upload the driver via this link:
http://www.driverscape.com/download/arduino-due
3. Plug DUE again, let it installed automatically.

After finish tested, please tell me the results.
Waiting your reply. Best regards.

that link had a bunch of links that it tried to trick me into installing malware with huge "DOWLOAD NOW" buttons and fake "Download" buttons...I found the correct link eventually, but the page seems kind of strange.

Everything behaves the same with that driver as with the old

that site is not in english.

the USB works fine when the FD power is off, and stops working when the power is on. This hardly seems like a driver issue.

Dear friend,
You can pull out jumper caps on VIN, and then use USB supply power.
Best regards.

Dear friend,
Could you please tell me whether you can find com port or not when you connect DUE and Computer?
If not, maybe there has problem on 16u2. You can use usbtiny to upload bootloarder.
If you can find com port, the mcu probably has problem.
Waiting your reply. Best regards.

The Due communication works fine, unless the FD is connect with the power on AND the jumper as described.
