Hello
I order now a FFC 40Pin pinout board. Let's see if I can connect then.

Well that's kind of frustrating the they change the board but still mark it v1!!
I'm having the same issue. Were you successful in programing using the cable?
Ordering my uno tommorrow for Cyber Monday, good luck!!

I have the same error and I have not seen any resolution
any idea what can be done now?
Arduino: 1.8.13 Hourly Build 2020/03/09 12:12 (Mac OS X), Board: "Arduino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560 (Mega 2560)"
Error while burning bootloader.
avrdude: Yikes! Invalid device signature.
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

I have done some research to find a better and easier way to burn the bootloader.
The idea is to disconnect the cable to the LCD and use it to connect to the board directly from the Arduino
So here is my solution with loads of pictures

this error definitely is a wiring issue
if you want to get the wiring sorted out easily, check my documentation
