I2c LCD1602 on Raspberry

Post by chrney »

Hi,

I've tried to get the LCD1602 to work through I2C, http://www.geeetech.com/wiki/index.php/ ... LCD_Module

But all I succeed is to get it to blink and to show some random characters. I use this manual:

http://www.rpiblog.com/2012/07/interfac ... ry-pi.html

But as said I cannot get this to work - anybody got this to work? I am banging my head as I feel I tried everything.

Best regards,

Hi ,friend
I don't interfacing a 16x2 LCD with Raspberry Pi.But I know you need PCF8574 IC for your LCD module.I will personally operate it.
Thanks for your reminder.

Hi there,

thanks for your answer. I am not sure I understood what you ment. Do you mean I need one of these chips? Isn't that built in onto the board on the back of the LCD display?

Best regards,

Christoph

Hi,

not sure I understood what you mean. Do I need a PCF8574 for this as well? I thought that was all on the add-on-board on the backside of the LCD?

Best regards,

Christoph
