Hi, I have a Geeetech prusa i3 x which I recently finished putting together, but when I set the extruder to be heated, the hot end gets really hot, it starts smoking and causes the 10A fuse to blow, Please help, I haven't been able to even do my first print

You'd better change a 10A fuse first,do you have a spare one?

I have replaced the 10A fuse with a working one and tried it again, but it blew it again. I have an image on how red the wires for the heating element get before it blows, I have also followed this http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 19&t=17039 and the LED for the heating element turns on which means the MOSFET is good.

OK,sounds like the mosfet is good,have you measured the resistance of the heater,i guess the value is abnormal and has a overhigh power.

I measured it, and got 2.1 ohms, the way I measured it was I took the two wires of the heating element and made sure they were only connected to the probes of the multimeter and nothing else. I am kind of confused on what it means by testing when shorted it should be less than 2 ohms and when open circuit it is infinite? How exactly do I test that?

I'm afraid you have to change a heater now...

How could I contact costumer service to get it replaced, since it came faulty from factory? I also have a two year warranty on the printer but don't know how the process is to getting it replaced.
