Gt2560 heating problem

Post by bouchere »

I bought a gt2560 about 5 months ago and i accidently plug the powered psu (24v) in the board.. and i broke someting on the board but it was still usable. The problem was overheating by a small black chip that run the fan near the last motor driver (second extruder). So when i print in abs (high temps) the printer will stop or to wierd mouvements. So i bought a second one last month and i juste recived it last night. Plug it on the 3d printer and the black chip became crazy hot in few seconds. So i unplug the (12v) fans and the chip stay cold... I made some recherche and found the jumper to swith 12v to 24v but my fan don't like 24v.. i don't know what to do .. maybe my fans (2x 50mm fan + 1x 30mm fan) use to much curent ? What can i do ?

So you plugged the "JP2" jumper??
Generally,we use the fan whose rated voltage is 12V.
