gt2560 wont connect to pc

i bought a geeetech prusa i3 from amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HT ... UTF8&psc=1 and got it all built and connected it to my pc and it would not recognize it a green light does come on and stay on till i unplug it. I then unplugged the printer and downloaded the drivers for the gt2560 board at http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and then plugged my 3d printer in and my pc still did not recognize it. I then found a ramps 1.4 board that i have and plugged it in and my pc did recognize my ramps board. Any one have any ideas for my gt2560 board or did i get a defective board?

I removed all connections from the board, plugged the power cable back in and then turned on the power and then plugged the usb in and my computer then recognized it finally

i hope this helps someone out in the future

So maybe there is a short circuit somewhere on your board?
