version preference and config file?

I have been printing for a while with 3D Touch. It works well. I am trying to get 3Dtouch to function with Pi3a Pro2 firmware--for dual nozzles-- from viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17046
I modified Pi3a pro's configuration.h file much like my PI3A_Pro but it doesn't deploy the sensor in the middle of G28--safe home to center.
Pi3a pro-- works fine ABL is reliable with 3Dtouch--single nozzle
Pi3a pro2 -- both extruders, temp sensors and heaters work but there is no control of 3D touch. M280 commands don't work. Otherwise I think it would be right.
Below are the only changes in configuration.h from Pi3a pro to Pi3a pro2--the recommended dual extruder firmware.
FROM Pi3a pro--:
#define EXTRUDERS 1
//#define EXTRUDER_OFFSET_X {0.0, 20.00} // (in mm) for each extruder, offset of the hotend on the X axis
//#define EXTRUDER_OFFSET_Y {0.0, 0.00} // (in mm) for each extruder, offset of the hotend on the X axis
TO Pi3a pro2:
#define EXTRUDERS 2
#define EXTRUDER_OFFSET_X {0.0, 20.00} // (in mm) for each extruder, offset of the hotend on the Y axis
#define EXTRUDER_OFFSET_Y {0.0, 0.01} // (in mm) for each extruder, offset of the hotend on the Y axis
AND
FROM Pi3a pro--:
#define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1
#define TEMP_SENSOR_1 0
TO Pi3a pro2:
#define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1
#define TEMP_SENSOR_1 1
FROM Pi3a pro--:
#define LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 15
#define RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 195
#define FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 61
#define BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 190
#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -5 // Probe on: -left +right
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 56 // Probe on: -front +behind
#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -3.30 // -below (always!)
TO Pi3a pro2:
#define LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 21
#define RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 180
#define FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 70
#define BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 190
#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 20 // Probe on: -left +right
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 70 // Probe on: -front +behind
#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -3.30 // -below (always!)
Both Pins.h files are identical between pro2 and pro. I checked conditionals.h and configuration.adv.h too. Identical. Is there another FW to get ABL to work?
