Problem or normality?

Post by GDWork »

Yesterday I got my geeetech A20M. I have not power the unit, because when I move the print bed, it turns on the display, led power supply and more. Is this normal?

Hello.

This phenomenon is undesirable.

When you set the motor in motion, it starts to work like a generator.
Try not to do so. This can be dangerous for the electronics of the printer.

Besides, everything is fine. :D

Power on or nothing? I'm scared.
I'll try it.

Hi.

You don't have to be afraid, it's enough that you don't have to move the mechanisms manually.
Or, if necessary, do it very slowly.
;)

Printer power ok. I try to print a dog file in sd card but the extruder temperature will stop at 92°C instead 190°C and heatbed will stop at 45°C instead 60 °C. The printer isn't connect to pc for this first tests. It comes with marlin 1.1.18. PID setting wrong or anything else?

Hi.
;)

You can write how you managed to solve the problem. This will be helpful for other users.

I just reinstalled marlin firmware 1.1.8. Everything was blocked when I attached printer to pc and run arduino software for save and modify firmware setting in the machine.
Now I'm waiting for the 3D touch sensor and will reinstall it again.

You will love the 3D Touch. We had to flip the mount on the left side of the print head. But, it is relatively easy to install. PM me is you run into anything unusual.
