Bad part or am I missing something??

I am part way through assembly when I need to install the two t-shaped linear bearings. One of the has the holes on the bottom correctly countersunk to allow an M3-6mm screw to fit flush when tightened. The other had the countersunk holes drilled next to the post rather than on the bottom.

I have checked the instructions carefully but there doesn't appear to be a way to affix the latter and I am begining to think I have a incorrectly milled part. Has anybody else encountered this and am I misunderstanding something or do I have a part that needs replacing?
