Geetech Beginner Issues
Hi, I just purchased a Geeetech i3 W and encountered some issues.
Issue #1:
After assembling and trying to calibrate the z-axis, I observed that there is an issue where when after every z-axis calibration, several times moving the z-axis up/down using the LCD console panel, the right-rod will have some offset when selecting Auto Home... (even after reading and printing some anti-wobbling brackets for this machine using another 3D Printer).
This I took it as minor to no issue as I can levelling the offset from the printer bed with some extra 5mm length on the right bed corners (luckily it is not more than that). I would like to know is this a normal issue happening to all Geeetech i3 W or is it only me? Why it happens?

Doing my first print, the first layer seems levelled correctly and printed on the glass. However subsequent layers, it seems z-axis moving too fast up every cycle and creating spaghetti while printing. May I know how to fix this? I tried slice using 2 different slicing software and it is still the same error results.

Hi, Iks.
What is your z-axis threaded rod, divided into two types,
Maybe you need to adjust the step value and save it. You need to level the hot bed. The distance between the nozzle and the hot bed is the distance of a 70gA4 leveling paper.
The print speed reference range is: 30-60mm/s.
If the printed consumable is PLA, try the nozzle heating temperature of about 200°.

Wow... got difference it seems.... thanks for the great info. I think it supplied with “Lead Screw” rod. I thought everything is configured with proper parts in the box that came with. Do you have any YouTube videos for reference where I can follow the guide? Need save setting in the Arduino board or everytime slice need configure these settings?

Thanks!!! Will try setting in the Printer rather than modify from GCODE. I check on the GCODE didn’t mention the rod setting so I added that command.
I did modified the GCODE adding the Z400 and is working now. Thanks for your help!!!
As for the speed that you mentioned, how to set and any difference in changing the printing speed?
For the not equal z-axis from left and right stepper motors, is there any correction that I should make?

- extruder problem (lever force, saw wheel full of mess, step loss...)
- hotend partly clogged
- filament path problem

TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.

Second print on the same object with different filament seems to be ok now. Thx.
Will try all settings. If possible I’m still hoping my z-axis stepper motors can be align same. If you have suggestion, pls help. Thx.
