Hi I would like to upgrade the extruder to be able to print flexible filaments with a BMG.
I understood that once this hardware modification has been made I have to intervene on the firmware to reverse the rotation of the extruder motor but I have doubts about it.
since mine has a GT2560 v3.5 card (from the display) but I think it is a v4.0 to check I have to disassemble the bottom and see what it shows on the printed circuit.
The first question is, which source firmware should I download, in order to have the one updated at least as much as the original one on my very recent A20?
I understand that the source firmware available on this forum is a bit old compared to the .hex one and I would not want to lose the functions implemented on the current one such as the filament change or worse still all the parameters that allow the printer to function well in this moment.
The second doubt however is, if I want to return with a traditional extruder, can I subsequently install the updated .hex version and is this identical to the one currently on my A20?
Replace the original extruder with BMG
Re: Replace the original extruder with BMG
Hi, If you did not replace A4988 with TMC2208,
No need to change the motor running direction in the firmware,
You can check the motherboard model written on the motherboard,
Or view printer related information on the screen,
You can download the hex format firmware on the official website and upload it using the firmware toolkit.
For specific operations, you can refer to: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=69684

Re: Replace the original extruder with BMG
thanks for the answer, I know how to install the .hex version but I have to reverse the rotation of the extruder motor and from the firmware.hex I don't know how to do it if it is possible.
