Starting problems g2s pro

Post by ZOAB »

Hi everybody,

After I build my first delta printer (Rostock mini g2s pro), I tried my first prints.
After 2 days of tuning, this was the best result so far:(picture).

First problem: the first layer doesnt stick. I tried different temperatures of the bed, blue tape, leveling (more then 20 x  ),
different speeds (feeding and travelling), different thickness of first layer, different speeds for first layer.
What can I do more ?

Secondly I don't understand the Repetier program: for example, where can I change the travelling speed ? In the Repetier setting and/or in thee slic3r settings, or in the manual control ?

Some tips are welcome !

Thnks,

Boaz

your nozzle seems too close to the bed in the first layer, how's your distance between the nozzle and bed when Z=0mm? usually it should be about the thickness of a normal paper. And how's the temperature you use? if use PLA then 65 will be a proper temp for the filament to stick to the bed. And yeah you need to change the speed setting in the build-in slic3r engine, also you can check out this link to see if it helps:

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the reply. I calibrated many times with papersheet, and tried different values for the first layer thickness (0.2, 0.25, 0.3). I tried also lso bed temperature from 50 till 60 degrees.
But still no sticking.. Today someone told me to use hairspray. Didnt try it yet..

I solved the problem. The test filament that came with the printer was the problem. With a new pla filament it works fine
