Erradic behavior on M201

Post by Obewon 99 »

O several occasions I have started to print and the printer homed in and just sat there or it would move to the initial position for the part to be printed , the only thing I knew to do was shut it down then start over. Also other times when I got a decent looking print going and Z axis reaches a height of 20 to 30 mm x and y axis both start making very rapid moves in both x and y directions, z axis is moving like it is supposed to. I disassembled x and y axis assemblies looking for anything that might be binding up ,but found nothing that could cause that. I've destroyed 7 or 8 prints in a row this way .
I also re-installed Ver 1,0.4 firmware and the usb driver and Repetier Host just in case something had corrupted itself in the process . :?
Any suggestions ?

you mean the 1.0.4 firmware has those problems when start to print? I haven't met it for a long time, will test it tomorrow.
And the "x and y axis both start making very rapid moves in both x and y directions", how about change another object? And how about the driver voltages? are they all poper? you can check out this link to adjust the voltage:

Think I've found the problem, y axis smooth rods have what they call spauling on them. also the bed height setting is varying wildly.
I ordered new rods and bearings, but they won't be here until mid April.
How long should these last , I just got myM201 on Jan 21st this year ?
