Trouble connecting and printing with i3 X pro

Post by gregbot »

Hello All,

I have a i3 Pro X with GT2560 board and I cannot get Repetier Host to connect to the printer. Device manager (using Windows 10) sees the printer as COM1 and the FTDI drivers were automatically installed and are working properly. I have successfully flashed the GT2560 with the i3 Pro X firmware from your site viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17046. In Repetier Host, I have tried every baud rate setting listed. When I try to connect to the printer, Repetier Host says "6 Command Waiting". I've also tried to print a file manually by slicing an STL, saving it to the SD and printing from SD. The printer just sits there. The printer axis home properly and the hardware all seems to work (bed and extruders heat normally when commanded to manually from the printer interface).

Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,
The Baud Rate for I3X is 250000,make sure you have it correctly set.

Hi, as I said I've tried every baud rate, but of course, 250000 is the first one I tried.

Sounds weird...
As you said, you can flash the firmware via USB which shows the connection between computer and board is OK.
So the COM port and Baud Rate are all right, the connection must be OK.

Hi Cup, yes it is pretty strange. I am running out of ideas as to what could be wrong. Possibly a bad board? The motors all work as expected when controlled via the LCD interface, as does the hotend and bed. But, if I try to print from the SD card, it just sits idle forever. And, I can't do anything at all over the USB.

Uninstall the driver on your computer then install the following driver to take a look:

And try re-flashing the firmware for your printer.

Hello, I uninstalled the driver and installed version CMD21224 and re-flashed the board, and I still cannot get the printer to respond to any commands. Still says "6 commands waiting" (the number goes up with every additional command I try to give it). I have checked and re-checked every setting. Nothing works. Any more ideas?

How is everything going now?Could you flash the firmware successfully?
I'm suspecting the FTDI chip on your board has a problem, could you please attach a picture of it?
