Help Beginner Setting up PI3 Pro B

Post by 3dbeginnerjeff »

OK I'm very new to 3D printing!!
I got the PI3 Pro B printer, took 3 days to put it together, and as far as I can tell it works!
Downloaded the Repetier Host V2.0.1 program, which again seams to be running ok....

I even downloaded some drivers for the com port.. CDM V2.12.00 Certified.exe that I thought was to help with setting up a USP port to talk to the printer...

and this is where my problem is!!!!! HELP!!!!!

I have a old system that I have marked as my 3D printer computer...
I is running Windows XP

My understanding of Firmware is a chip that you can program to do a set task.. eg.. a programible chip
this is where I think my problem is....
understanding just how to set things up so the Repetier program can talk to the printer...
I realy need some very simple steps on setting up this.
as I have said I thought the answer was the Com Port driver, but I am not having any luck...

thanks for any help
