A10m+TMC2208

Post by Hochdruck3D »

Hey Guys,

because of problems with the stock drivers i want to upgrade to tmc 2208 drivers.
so they will arrive tomorrow.

the Question is, how much v i need to give them?

ive heared all from 0.8 to 1.2V.

the one Says you Need 1.2 on the y because Layershifts. the other says use 0.8 because the motors will be very very hot.

what is the best volate i can give them?

Thank you

I suggest you add the heat sink for the TMC2208.
Then set the vref of the TMC2208 to 0.6~0.8V.
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
-Everything will be fun!-Support all Getech printer.
-You can ask me the questions and I will kindly reply.
-Respect others is the best way you can get help!

So? Did you replaced drivers? I'm gonna switch tmc2208 today. I was thinking of updating firmware to 2.0 but for now I'll modify my current 1.9
Tell us how it works.

Ok then, Marlin 2.0.x will be my new firmware. I compiled yesterday your build and had no errors at all. Today I will switch stepper drivers, setup vref and brand new firmware.

I also did it. Set vref 0.6V, no skipping steps. Steppers are quite hot especially extruder motor. I've changed firmware without issues, everything is working perfectly with the features I wanted.
