Extruder Stepper motor doesnt work.

Post by Pillar »

Im Having an issue with the extruder motor. My 3d printer is GEEETech Prusa I3 Pro B ,with GT2560 Board. Everything is working perfectlly but the extruder motor doesnt run at all in both directions.I did some checks. First: I unplugged the Extruder motor plug and i put it on the X Port. The extruder motor worked after that
in both directions by using manually the LCD manual control of X Axis. That means the extruder motor works. Second check: I swapped the v9 boards of X And Extruder port. The extruder motor works again. That means the V9 also is okay. Third: I plugged the extruder motor and the V9 ofc to the E1 Port. Nothing happened after that. Finally my issue is: Extruder motor is okay,V9 is also okay but both of E0 And E1 Ports wont run the extruder motor. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is the "v9" you called motor driver?

Yes it was my mistacke , i meant the A4988 Motor driver. I did all the procedure to print and the extruder motor doesnt work. I think something is wrong with the configuration in marlin.

Ofcourse the extruder can not run if it is connected to E1 slot because of firmware, only extruder 0 slot is activated.
1. Can you get the AC voltage between GND and any pin of extruder 0 slot when you are moving extruder?
2. Is the power supply fine? Can you get 2 groups of 12V DC voltage?

The PSU is fine.
Have you tested the output voltage of extruder motor slot? Can you get a changing AC voltage when you are moving the extruder (actually it's not moving, I mean when you give the command)?

I did the check with extruder temp to 200C and i didnt notice any change in AC Volt, when i was giving the command via the display to the extruder motor. The indication remains the same in all pins, Blue-Red-Green-Black. After that, I swaped the A4988 Board from X Axis to the extruder. I did the same check and again, i didnt notice any change in my multimeter. The same results.

I forgot to post the measurement in my previous message, It was 0 Volt AC Between GND and Red-Blue-Green and Black pins.
