Extruder 1: initially filament would not even feed. The holes through the extruder did not line up. So I drilled the out enough to get the filament to the hot end. Now I still have feed problems. I increased vref to 1.1v, temp is good, but I'm not getting enough coming out unless I manually feed the filament.

Extruder 2: no joy. Seams like the board is messed up. No stepper function on that port. Stepper motor ran on another axis. Swapping drivers doesn't help. Vref shows up correct.

Any help troubleshooting would be muchly appreciated

Hi,As to you extruder 1, I think the extruder does not have enough pressure to drive fliament down.To solve that you can put a piece of paper in the extruder's spring to make it become stronger.You can try by the following link:viewtopic.php?f=19&t=18507.
As to you extruder 2,could you post some pictures about the board especially including these ports you are talking about?then i can get it much better.

extruder 1: tried the paper trick. no go. tried raising temp. no go. how much force should it take to manually feed filament through a 0.3mm nozzle?

extruder 2: i can un plug the second extruder cable from the board and plug it into the x axis and it runs fine. i can swap the driver board to another axis and that axis still works. the driver board is sitting at .86v. there is no function of the second extruder at all. i don't know what else to check to narrow the problem.

i have sent an email to tech support but have not gotten a reply.
has anyone set up geeetech's aluminum extruder upgrade for duel printing? are the hard to modify for flexible filament?

extruder 1: the nozzle seems to be clogged.Replace a new one will be solved.
extruder 2: according to your troubleshooting,the second extruder maybe broken.Please replace it.

Ok what do you mean by replace the extruder. The stepper motor works fine. I think it's the board. Nothing I plug into the second extruder port functions.

According to what you say, it's likely that the mainboard has some problem, could you take some photos about the motherboard,especially the connection part of the extruder 2 behind the board?

The port I'm referring to is labeled A on the back of the board. 1 solder joint is only half soldered but the rest look fine.

Yes,that is the key,you need to solder the half one to get it work.

I fixed to solder. I also reloaded firmware. Still nothing from the extruder. Now my axises are reversed so I'll have to fix that.
Changing the nozzle didn't fix the issue with the first extruder. I ordered a different extruder setup now if can get the main board fixed I might be ok.

The board might be some problems if the new extruder still don't work.
