Titan extruder retraction noise
Titan extruder retraction noise
Hi,
Does anybody has titan extruder on the A10. It gives me hell of a noise on retraction. What could be the issue?
Thanks,
Istvan

Re: Titan extruder retraction noise
Hi, you can check if the motor can run normally.
If it is audible, you can replace the driver board to reduce it.

-Keep your mind and try to test it.

Re: Titan extruder retraction noise
HI,
The motor is fine, with a standard extruder. I'm already replaced the steppers with TMC2208.
What else should i check?

Re: Titan extruder retraction noise
Hi,
It is 5.4mm currently. The sound it gives me is like something is resonating.

Re: Titan extruder retraction noise
Yes it is always making the noise. Yes the firmware has TMC2208_standalone for the drivers, and i also had to reverse the e0 direction as well.vert wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2019 4:57 pmwhen you replaced the drivers did you properly define the new drivers in marlin recompile and flash the correct settings to the printer?iherbak wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2019 4:40 pm HI,

With the stock extruder / and the geeetech metal extruder no such things happening. At very low retrraction 2mm it is better but that amount is just not enough to stop oozing.
Re: Titan extruder retraction noise
As far as i can remember i set the vref to 0.8 on the extruder and a little bit below 0.8 for the XYZ.
It is kinda hot but can be touched with bare hands.
I already thought on putting back the old driver for the E0 to see if there is any difference.

OK I'll reduce the vrefs and see if it helpsvert wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2019 5:12 pm i ran at 0.8v for a while and it was getting very hot like burn on touch hot i reduced them all to 0.7v to resolve that.
had filament melting inside the feeder causing issues as well.
Re: Titan extruder retraction noise
I did the vref adjustment. Still the same issue see/hear the video i made https://youtu.be/PQlDJpYJjz4iherbak wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2019 5:17 pmOK I'll reduce the vrefs and see if it helpsvert wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2019 5:12 pm i ran at 0.8v for a while and it was getting very hot like burn on touch hot i reduced them all to 0.7v to resolve that.

Re: Titan extruder retraction noise
Will take a look. The tension is obviously good enough for printing as it does the job fine.vert wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2019 4:29 amlooks like the spring tension is to low to keep a hold of the filament and its just spinning on the filament not even performing the retraction.iherbak wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2019 2:19 amI did the vref adjustment. In the meanwhile i just disassembled the whole thing and only left the big wheel in.
Still the retraction is giving me the same noise. So it is not related to the tensino, nor the filament os the filament guide parts.
Still have no idea why it is giving me noise
