Nozzle completely stripped, now what?

Post by rwlroc »

The flimsy wrench that comes with the A20M bent trying to loosen the nozzle. I used a craftsman wrench. The brass stripped. Tried vice grips. Is the next resort a new heater block? Thoughts. It is not coming out.

Well, using a hardened steel allen wrench, the screw holding the heating block on stripped too. The factory overtightens and as a result I need a whole new head just trying to change a freaken nozzle.

You must heat the nozzle (190° approx) to be sure that plastic dont block it.

Trying to unscrew a cold nozzle can result in a crushed nozzle.

Bras tip need to be removed hot, not cold.

Use this tool after extruder is heated

TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.

:D Hi, for nozzle replacement,
you can try heating it up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKp_QzApoEM and then unscrew it with a tool.
You can refer to the video for specific operations:
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
