G29 Auto-leveling

Post by fotomickey »

Hi all Experts

I'm trying to calibrate my G2S , but have 2 more challenge ahead to make it work.
1) Manage to get 2 probing points (0,50)、(43.3,-25) but (-43.3,-25) seem off by 2mm+ the end-stop screw & belt checked already at maximum setting. Adjust Delta radius didn't help.

2) Try to test auto-leveling G28 then G29. Will touch center point ok, but then arm will raise and waving in mid-air for couple test point without touching plate. After Auto-leveling , G2s lost it coordination and can not find center point with G1X0 Y0 and can't lower to 0,0,0 unless do a G28 to reset home.

Will someone able to provide some help or uploading a video explain the calibration & Auto-leveling of G2 & G2S.

Thanks in advance

Hi, I changed in firmware desired values as is described in manual from you. I make home position without issue, but when I send command G29 for autocalibrating, then x and y belt from home position go down faster than z position and probe trying go out printable. Please help me somebody.

I have the same problem as Sagat.

When I send the G29 command the head tries to move outside the printable area. This is what's in the log:
22:22:33.723 : N716 G29 *50
22:22:41.759 : Bed x: 41.50 y: -41.50 z: 99.99
22:22:42.286 : Bed x: 13.83 y: -41.50 z: 109.98
22:22:42.846 : Bed x: -13.83 y: -41.50 z: 119.96
22:22:43.469 : Bed x: -41.50 y: -41.50 z: 129.95
22:22:44.028 : Bed x: -41.50 y: -13.83 z: 139.94
22:22:44.668 : Bed x: -13.83 y: -13.83 z: 149.93
22:22:45.211 : Bed x: 13.83 y: -13.83 z: 159.91
22:22:45.739 : Bed x: 41.50 y: -13.83 z: 169.90
22:22:46.282 : Bed x: 41.50 y: 13.83 z: 179.89
22:22:46.810 : Bed x: 13.83 y: 13.83 z: 189.88
22:22:47.385 : Bed x: -13.83 y: 13.83 z: 199.86
22:22:48.057 : Bed x: -41.50 y: 13.83 z: 209.85
22:22:48.792 : Bed x: -41.50 y: 41.50 z: 219.84
22:22:49.639 : Bed x: -13.83 y: 41.50 z: 229.83
22:22:50.231 : Bed x: 13.83 y: 41.50 z: 239.81
22:22:50.806 : Bed x: 41.50 y: 41.50 z: 249.80
22:22:50.806 : 128.75 118.76 108.78 98.79
22:22:50.827 : 138.74 148.73 158.71 168.70
22:22:50.827 : 208.65 198.66 188.68 178.69
22:22:50.827 : 218.64 228.63 238.61 248.60

I'm surprised to see Z values that are greater than 200 when I have MANUAL_Z_HOME_POS 187 set in firmware.

Hi, yes, i have home Z set to max.

When I run G29, the Z axis stops and the head tries to go outside the boundaries.
It seems like the firmware calculations are wrong.

Please send the latest firmware.

My issue is different. When I do a G29, the device correctly probes the full array of points. Once all probe points have been sampled, it then seems to completely mis-calibrate the positions and tries to destroy the carriages by moving outside of the printable area in mid-air requiring an emergency stop. Before issuing the G29 command, I can get the device to move around the bed fine with G0 commands. This is almost certainly a firmware issue that seems to have its origins in the way the auto-levelling calibrates points once it has the auto-levelling matrix. Auto-levelling is required as I do get a variance of up to 3mm in Z axis during probing.
