X Belt Tension

Post by BennyBoyW »

Hi all
Is there any instruction for tightening the x axis belt on the A30?

Been wondering about that myself. Via Youtube on the CR10, it appears to be on the right hand pulley. Not so on this printer and not sure how you'd do it. There may be room on the right side of the hotend to put a tightener. When moving all the way to the right, there is still a good bit of space left to accommodate the tensioner.

BennyBoy,

I printed these last night and put one on my X axis belt.

I scaled the Z axis up only by 20% a few times to make some of different sizes. It tightened the belt and helped quite a bit. Surprisingly on the bottom infill as well. Probably needs a bit more however as it's still not quite there.

This is the correct way to tighten the belt, but there's a better way :D
Since the A30 is a CR-10 clone, nearly all the CR-10 upgrades work here as well. I printed out this x-axis adjuster and it works great. I also printed out that author's Y-axis adjuster as well

How do you get this tensioner installed? It is already too tight to pull together when I try. I don't even have it far enough to put the bolt through the bearings and it's already so tight I fear it's going to snap. I don't understand how everyone is using this tensioner upgrade.
